Il Fosos Square once again played host to an unforgettable night as Isle of MTV – one of Europe’s most hotly anticipated musical extravaganzas – lit up the beautiful Mediterranean island of Malta for a fifth consecutive year. With the sun setting and as night began to fall in the stunning square, a crowd of more than 50,000 music fans were thrilled by incredible live performances from Flo Rida, Nelly Furtado, will.i.am and Eva Simmons. and Parade, crowning Isle of MTV as THE free European outdoor summer music event of 2011.
Previous performers at the Isle of MTV main event include Lady Gaga, The Black Eyed Peas, David Guetta, Kelis, Scissor Sisters, The Chemical Brothers, Enrique Iglesias, N*E*R*D, Shaggy, Garbage, Jazzy Jeff, Gorillaz, OneRepublic and Morcheeba.
Past Isle of MTV main event locations have included Torre de Belém, Lisbon, Portugal (2002); Ile du Gaou, Six-Fours Les Plages, France (2003); Tossa De Mar, Costa Brava, Spain (2004); Piazza dell Unita’ d’Italia, Trieste, Italy (2005); Floriana, Malta (2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010).
