It looks to be an exciting year for music with a number of new material coming out from our risen stars but we also have a string of new artists to keep a close eye on.

So what new talent should you watch out for in 2012???

Mac Miller: He's this month's MTV Push Artist and he's already given us a glimpse of what we can expect from him this year with a spanking performance at the New Year's Eve celebrations in New York's Time Square. Mac Miller's most recent album Blue Side Park sold over 145,000 copies in the first week without any commercial promotion. So there's no doubt he'll blow us away as he takes off on tour. STAY TUNED FOR TOUR DATES!

Lana Del Rey: She's last months MTV Push Artist who took the internet world by storm with her 2011 song Video Games. She also managed to create her very own music genre: "Hollywood sadcore." Last month she announced that her new album entitled Born to Die will be released on January 31st, 2012 and we believe it's going to be HUGE. What better way to kick start the year than with a little Rey music!

Frank Ocean: The American singer-songwriter and rapper from New Orleans has already jammed in the studio with Jay-Z, Beyonce and Kanye West before he was signed. He's now been nominated for the BBC's Sound of 2012 poll. If that's just the tip of the iceberg, do we really need to say anymore???

Dev: She came to the scene with "Booty Bounce" which was sampled in Far East Movement's hit single Like a G6 which reached number 1 in the US, and sold over five million downloads in the country. Dev most recently dropped her new album The Night the Sun Came Up in September 5, 2011. The second single from the LP "In the Dark" peaked at number 11 in the US chart, making it her most successful solo single so far. She could very well rank up this year.

Avicii: He's a Swedish DJ, remixer, and record producer whose debut single, "Seek Bromance", reached the top 20 in several countries around the world. He's also already scooped up a Grammy nomination for Best Dance Recording for his collaboration, "Sunshine," with dance DJ guru David Guetta. There's more....he also wrote on Leona Lewis No. 1 hit, Collide. Who wouldn't be excited about this multitalented music sensation!

Who are you rooting for?
