Any way you dice it, Selena Gomez looked in-CRED-ible at the 2011 VMAs. Her duties were split between co-hosting the VMA pre-show with Sway and co. and presenting at the mainshow with, non other, Taylor Lautner. But where did she look best?

On the black carpet at the preshow, she was a vision in a lacy black Julien MacDonald gown. The dramatic hi-low hem, the sulty strategic sheer paneling, that NECKLINE. We die. If she weren't so stinkin' sweet, this would be THE perfect outfit for some classically seductive villainess. But Selena Gomez is wearing it, so it just looks sophisticated and insanely HOT (and not scary).
For the show and her presenting stint alongside Taylor Lautner, Sel slinked into a silver metallic Jenny Packham mini dress with a high neck to keep it demure. She kept her sleek, simple updo, but added a pair of large dangly earrings and swapped out the gold pumps for a strappy pair of nude sandals. A definite departure from her earlier look, Selena was nonetheless just as stunning in this second outfit.
