Rihanna recently talked to MTV News talking about the sequel with a huge amount of apprehension to making something that was already so good.
The newest version which will feature on her upcoming album - Loud - leaves no room for controversy over who it is about (aka Chris Brown) with the first 4 lines:

The chorus is still the same from the first version but the rest narrates a violent relationship between a couple. Interestingly, the song does capture well the difference between how a woman and how a man looks at violence and pain as Eminem comes across as strong and forceful and angry while Rihanna lives in regret, pain and despair.
