Chris Brown and Rihanna have released a new remix "Birthday Cake" as a collaboration from the couple that three years prior were either beat up or charged with domestic violence - really?

Chris Brown & Rihanna: Birthday Cake

Last week, I wrote why everybody hates Chris Brown after his stunning and arrogant rebuke on Twitter about his Grammy win. In the meantime, Rihanna has been on every talk and radio show about the importance of speaking up when it comes to violence. I get that this song could be a window of forgiveness, a light of reconcilliation but have you heard the lyrics - really?

Chris Brown sings:
"Girl I wanna f--k you right now. Been a long time I been missing your body"
"Lemme, lemme turn the lights down. When I, when I go down it's a private party."

..and Rihanna is no better with:
"If you sexy and you know it"
"And you ain’t afraid to show it"
"Put a candle on my motherf--king back baby blow it"
"Love the way you do when you do it like that"

As Billboard Magazine puts it bluntly - "Is this a true sign of romantic reunion or simply two pop stars who are willing to milk their domestic abuse past for more fame and/or notoriety?"

I love Rihanna and the way she expresses herself in this world, how she can be pop sexy as well as thought provoking. I was willing to give Chris Brown a chance, all people make mistake and deserve a second chance. But this...really?

Weigh in - what do you think of the new song?
