Playing at the iHeart festival in Las Vegas Rihanna was excited to reveal the new single to fans.

Speaking about the new track - which she says is "happy and hippy" - RiRi said: "It's laid-back but it's hopeful. It's a record that... gives me such a great feeling when I listen to it.

"The lyrics are very hopeful and positive, but it's about love and... a little different to what people would expect, I think."

She added: "I'm excited about that. I'm excited to surprise them sonically."

The pop superstar also revealed that the secret to her success is simply that she "loves great music".

Rihanna explained: "When I make an album, that's what I think about; what I want to hear, what I love to hear.

"I think that's what my fans love... I always want to make it interesting for them. I always want to make it a little fresh and a little ahead of what's on the radio."

Rihanna is the recipient of six Grammy Awards® and seven Billboard Music Awards, Rihanna has sold over 37 million albums and 146 million digital tracks worldwide, and currently holds the record for top-selling digital artist of all time.
