Rebecca Ferguson has overcome the odds to let her voice shine through, this month as MTV's PUSH Artist for April.

Just over a year ago, this painfully shy, woefully under confident single mother of two was shown auditioning for The X Factor UK. In what is surely one of the best audition sequences ever shown on the programme, her story of dignified resignation – pregnant at 17, then again at 19, with no money and little hope – struck a chord with the nation. It seemed that this was a voice destined never to be heard. Then she opened her mouth and her stunningly raw rendition of Sam Cooke’s classic “A Change Is Gonna Come” set the bar on the show, oh, just a million miles higher….

Although Rebecca placed 2nd in the contest, her presence and voice were more than enough for Simon Cowell to sign her on Synco Records in assoication with Epic (UK) and Columbia(USA). Here debut album "Heaven" released in late 2011 in the U.K. and will release in May 2012 in the USA. Her sales in the U.K. has solidified her presence hitting number 3 on the UK ALbum Chart plus she sold over 7 times more copies than Matt McCardle who beat her in X-Factor.

Rebecca has been applauded for "Heaven" because her song and presence is indicative of someone who has really been through alot in life.

Cheryl Cole expressed : "It's not hard to understand why: there's a hard central core of reality, of real lived experience, running through these ten songs that's almost diametrically opposed to the usual soul-diva cliches promoted by shows like The X Factor."

In this month's MTV PUSH Rebecca is featured LIVE with songs from her album "Heaven" plus the music video for her debut single Too Good To Lose.
