As that clock hit 12 and everyone thought about who to kiss. Lady Gaga thought no more.......she leaped right in and gave New York's Mayor Michael Bloomberg a smooth in front of billions as they brought the New Year's ball down in New York's Time Square to start 2012.

The Born This Way star came dressed for the occasion with a silver studded head/face mask and sparkly silver gown and Bloomberg dressed for the weather with a cosy warm jumper with the US flag on it.

Bloomberg and Gaga not only shared a kiss but also came together for an onstage waltz.

Lady Gaga also performed on the night but she was not the only one to marry the night.... Selena Gomez, Nicki Minaj, Justin Bieber, Drake, Cee Lo Green, Pitbull and Florence and the Machine also gave spectacular performances to set the mood.

Don't they make a cute couple???
