At the heart of Jersey Shore and its success is the ability of any one member to "hook up" during their nightly adventures on the town. MTV News recently caught up with the crew asking them to reveal all their dirty secrets about hook ups and hooking up. Obviously with more seasons on the horizon, the cast were reluctant to share everything but did give us a memorable Top 5 Hook Up Tips.

1) "You should never text-message during hooking up," Pauly D said. "Put your phone away."
2) "You should never call another name. If her name is Sheila, don't call her Tawana," said the Situation
3) "[Don't] throw it all out there," Jwoww said. " 'I got kids, I was married, I was this, I'm bankrupt, I killed my mom' — you don't do that stuff."
4) "[Don't] fart or burp in their face," Deena said.
5) JWoww added, "[Don't] pick your nose. Don't do anything that's disgusting."

If we had to move to the bonus round of hook up adventures we might add:

6) "Don't make food a larger priority than the hook-up" - obviously a problem for the Situation's late night snacks
7) "Don't let your hook up see you relieving yourself behind the bar or in the bushes" - Sage advice for Jwoww and Snooki
8) "Either be totally honest or totally untruthful - it's easier to keep track of" - How many OMG's have occurred due to this one?
9) "Don't show your hook-ups your woo-woo right from the start" - Deena this one is going out to you girl - disastrous results
10) "Don't drag out a relationship... either you are on and hot or off and outta there" ..Sam, Ronnie, Vinny and Snooki we are talking to you!
