On April 14th, super rap star Eminem tweeted that there would be no “Relapse 2” album that fans had been waiting patiently for. In another tweet, Mr. Slim Shady indicated a June 22nd release date for a new LP called “Recovery.” So what’s the story? An official press release on www.eminem.com was posted and basically indicated the following.

"I had originally planned for Relapse 2 to come out last year," Eminem said via the statement. "But as I kept recording and working with new producers, the idea of a sequel to Relapse started to make less and less sense to me, and I wanted to make a completely new album. The music on 'Recovery' came out very different from 'Relapse,' and I think it deserves its own title."

Recovery, his seventh studio album, will arrive June 22nd with contributions from DJ Khalil, Just Blaze, Jim Jonsin, Boi-1da, and among others. The Alchemist, a longtime friend and producer of Eminen, previously described the album as “the most psychotic shits I’ve ever heard.”
