As we maniacally patiently await the release of the "Hold It Against Me" video (we're literally counting down), we're kinda reminiscing about when we first met Britney Spears and thinking about all the ways she's grown as a person and as an artist. We looove new Britney ("Hold It Against Me," "3," "Circus") but we have to bow down to old Britney, too ("Oops...I Did It Again," "(You Drive Me) Crazy," "Overprotected").

Awww! An adorable-looking Britney Spears is seen here at the Capital Radio Awards in London all the way back in 2000. (I whispered that part to soften the blow.) Yep, all the way back in 2000, when world domination was just a glimmer in the "Baby One More Time" singer's eye.



Pictured here with Christina Aguilera at the 2000 MTV VMAs, Britney's looking at the crowd all, "LOL, you guys mad because I just blew your minds with my performance of 'Oops...I Did It Again'"? You know, the greatest performance ever? The one with the sequined bodysuit? Even Christina's reluctantly like, "Yeah girl, that was good."



In 2003, at just 22 years old, Britney Spears received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and she looked so pretty doing it! Decked out in pink fur (because what else do you wear to receive your own star?) and super blonde hair, Britney mugged for the camera while being awarded her prime piece of real estate. So proud of you, Brit!
