Kanye West appears to be bracing for the storm of his life as the 2010 VMA Awards approaches. The 'Power' singer took to Twitter over the weekend to 'set the record straight' about many things but most obviously over his rude stage bumrushing stunt that stole the spotlight from winner Taylor Swift.

Next Sunday night, Kanye will come face to face with the country-pop superstar with a global audience watching his every move.

It appears he is still looking for forgiveness from himself as he tweeted: "I wrote a song for Taylor Swift that's so beautiful and I want her to have it," he said on his Twitter on Saturday night. "If she won't take it then I'll perform it for her."

In a Twitter stream, the rapper apologised for interrupting Taylor and insisted he had learnt from his mistake. “It is distasteful to cut people off as a general rule. What's the point of dressing tastefully if I'm going to act the complete opposite?” Kanye wrote. “When I woke up from the crazy nightmare I looked in the mirror and said GROW UP KANYE... I take the responsibility for my actions.

He still had typical Kanye - this is the way it is - style as he racked up dozens of 140 character long tweets claiming that Twitter was the only true real press where he could express himself.

“I am not a bad person. Even in that moment I was only trying to do good but people don't always need my help,” he added. “Beyonce didn't need that. MTV didn't need that and Taylor and her family friends and fans definitely didn't want or need that.”

Kanye ended his apology with “I’m sorry Taylor”.

The pair will come face to face at his year’s VMAs on September 12 - who knows ..maybe after such a drag through the media MTV has something special planned - after all - how much forgiveness can one ask for and...it is entertainment after all.
