In the past few months, with her new album in the works that is to showcase an older sound, Lavigne has been showing a more demure, mature image. However, as she emerged from her 22nd birthday celebrations the newly-married singer spat on the lens of a photographer's camera, and accompanied it by shouting: "Hey f******, come here!"
Avril has since made an official apology to the press, saying: "I'd like to sincerely apologise for my behaviour with the paparazzi. It's trying at best to deal with their insistent intrusions. I meant no offence to my fans, whose relationship I truly value. I have and will always go out of my way for my fans."
