In collaboration but apart, Rihanna started the set singing her highly global and upbeat club anthem "We Found Love" featuring the Barbados beauty in sheer tights, see through top, blond hair and heavy black boots as the stage was set afire with lasers, gyrating lights and pulsing strobes. at one point, Rihanna took her dancers on an outer stage and shouted out, "Give It Up For Whitney". The audience welcomed the high energy, high sexiness of the track before it morphed into a single guitar with Chris Martin of Coldplay.
In perfect transition, Martin moved into "Princess of China" amid a black background and two spotlights held firmly on the two artists. Toward the end, Rihanna found her cue as Martin energetically stepped to another portion of the stage which lit up in bright neon pastel colors seen throughout their Mylo Xyloto artwork. "Paradise" lit up the room with their famous blinking wristbands creating a sea of color and emotions both on stage and in the crowd.
It was eight minutes of ectasy from two unlikely opponents who made it work brilliantly.
