Full Biography

Their salvation however came through music, in the shape of their second album "Modern Life Is Rubbish", which reintroduced the idea that specifically English rock music could be cool, and by the time their third album, the legendary "Parklife", emerged in April, 1994, the rest of the UK had caught up. Defined not only by album sales but culturally too, Blur became one of, if not THE, biggest band in Britain, and were rewarded with 4 Brit Awards.

"The Great Escape" (1995) refined the sound palette and conceptual framework of what the press dubbed Britpop, but Blur - unsettled by the experience of pop fame - were already moving on. 1997's "Blur" included the single "Beetlbeum", which hit the UK number one spot with incredible speed, but their follow up, "13", proved to be a more radical adventure in sound

Now with their new album "Think Tank", their seventh album and their first recorded as a three-piece following the departure of Graham Coxon, further proof of Blur's infinite horizons has been provided. Containing some of their grooviest tracks so far, with an eclectic variety of rhythms and textures, it's sure to re-establish the band at the top of the charts, and this coupled with their impending European tour makes us feel that no other band is more worthy of the lofty award of our Artist Of The Week than the boys from Blur
